Our mission
We help buyers, sellers, property owners, investors, brokers, and real estate professionals make better-informed decisions in a changing market. We go beyond reporting what happened: we explain why it matters, who it affects, and what real estate decision-makers should consider doing next.
Our editorial promise
- Facts before speculation.
- Analysis beyond headlines.
- Sources credited, analysis labeled.
- Practical guidance over generic commentary.
- Transparent about who we are.
How we work
Each edition draws on four research areas, using the sources relevant to that day's story:
National housing and commercial data
Redfin, Zillow Research, Realtor.com, the National Association of REALTORS®, and industry research.
State and local data
C.A.R., San Diego's REALTOR® associations, local market data, and government sources.
Rates, lending, and the economy
Freddie Mac, the Federal Reserve, the Mortgage Bankers Association, FRED, and FHFA.
Industry developments
Trade and local news, verified against original documents where possible.
- Every material figure is checked against its original publisher, including the reporting period and method.
- When publishers report different numbers, we explain the difference instead of combining them.
- Reported facts and our analysis are labeled separately. Analysis is interpretation, not a guarantee about the future.
- Original publishers are credited in every edition.
Video briefs
Some editions include a short video brief presented by an AI-generated avatar. The script is written and fact-checked by The Realty Gazette; the presenter is not a real person.
